Sandhaya General Store

Sandhaya General Store is right on the Argora Chowk Main Road in Ranchi. Since we are near Argora Chowk, there is never a quiet moment. The road is always busy with people going to work or coming back home. Our store is a bit of a local landmark for the people living around here. We have everything stacked up on the shelves, from shampoos and toothbrushes to different kinds of snacks. The shop is quite narrow, so when three or four people come in at once, it feels very crowded. We have a counter at the front where we keep the items people buy most often, like tobacco, gum, and small biscuits. The lights inside are a bit dim, but we know exactly where everything is kept. My wife helps me out in the afternoons when the school children come in for sweets. We have to be careful about the inventory because things sell out fast on the main road. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the neighbor shop for some. The traffic noise is something you just get used to after a few years. We don't have a website or any of that, we just talk to the people who walk through the door. It is a lot of work to keep the place organized, but we try our best. We stay open even when it is raining because someone always needs a loaf of bread or a candle.
