Rohan Kirana Bhandar

Rohan Kirana Bhandar is my small shop in the Dhurwa area of Ranchi. We are situated right by Hec Gate No-3, which most people around here know well. We are also quite close to the SBI bank branch. I took over this shop from my father and I’ve been here ever since. The 834004 zip code is my home. I sell basic items like rice, flour, and other household goods. It’s a very simple setup with wooden counters and old weighing scales. I don't use any modern technology for the business. I just write everything down in a notebook. The shop gets quite busy in the evenings when people are coming home from work. Dhurwa is a hardworking neighborhood and I like being part of it. Sometimes the rain in Ranchi makes the road outside very muddy, but we keep the shop open for the locals. I don't have any big signs or posters. Just the name of the store above the door. It’s a lot of long hours standing behind the counter, but I don’t mind. People stop in not just to buy things, but to have a quick talk about what’s happening in the area. It’s a very local business and I don't have plans to change anything. We just provide what the neighbors need. If you are near Hec Gate No-3 or the SBI, you will find us easily. It is just a plain, regular shop.
