Rhizosphere Foundation

Rhizosphere Foundation is located in the Angara area of Ranchi. To find us, you have to go toward Childag. We are at Ramesh Choudhary’s place. It’s a quiet spot away from the main city traffic. Ranchi has grown so much lately, but out here in Angara, it still feels like the old days. The foundation is just a small group of us. We spend a lot of time outdoors or sitting on the porch. There’s a lot of greenery around here, which fits the name of our group. We don’t have any fancy office equipment. Just some basic furniture and a lot of notebooks. People from the nearby villages come by quite often. We might spend the whole afternoon just listening to someone’s story. It is not the kind of place where people wear suits. We are usually in plain clothes, just doing what we can. The weather in Ranchi is usually okay, but the rains can be very heavy. When it pours, we all just huddle inside and wait it out. There’s a sense of peace being away from the busy markets. We don’t do a lot of advertising. Word of mouth is how most people hear about us in the Childag area. It feels more honest that way. We are just part of the landscape here, trying to be useful to the people who live nearby.
