The Oraon Sheema Bal Awan Vridha Kalyan Foundation is run out of Sanjay Oraon’s place in Nayatoli. This is in Simalia, which is part of the Ratu area in Ranchi. Our pincode is 835222. We are pretty much a local group that cares about the kids and the elderly people around here. Simalia is a bit away from the main city rush, so it’s a bit more peaceful. We use Sanjay’s house as our main spot for meeting and planning things. It’s a very local feel because everyone knows Sanjay and they know where he lives in Nayatoli. We don’t have any fancy brochures or big marketing plans. We just talk to our neighbors and see who needs a bit of help. Sometimes we are looking after the younger ones and other times we are checking in on the older folks who live nearby. Jharkhand can be a tough place sometimes, so we just try to be a bit of support for our community in Ratu. The house is usually busy with people coming and going. We don’t mind the noise. It feels right to have the foundation based in a real home rather than some cold office building. We’ve been here for a while and we plan to stay as long as we can be useful to the people living around Simalia and Nayatoli.
