Murari Store

You can find Murari Store at 1, Murari Store in the Traffic Colony area. Ranchi - 834002 is a busy place and being near the colony means we see a lot of the same faces every day. I started this shop with just a few crates of soda and some biscuits. Now the shelves are full of spices, soaps, and plastic buckets. It’s a bit cramped inside because I try to fit in as much as possible. I don't like turning people away if they need something specific. Sometimes I have to climb a ladder to get the big sacks of flour down. The floor is old cement and shows the wear of many years. I open up at seven because the workers in Traffic Colony start their shifts early. My tea gets cold half the time because a customer walks in just as I take a sip. We don’t have any fancy displays or neon signs. Just a simple board with the name on it. Life in Ranchi is okay, though the summers are tough behind a metal counter. I enjoy the chat with the older men who come to buy their tobacco or some matches. It feels like home here at 1, Murari Store. We just keep doing what we do every day and hope the stock arrives on time.
