Muluk Cando Foundation

Our foundation is located out in Chandsar, which is in the Godda and Dumka area. We operate from the premises of Patwari Marandi, who is the son of Baghray Marandi. It’s a rural setting, quite different from the big city offices you see on TV. There are a lot of trees around and the air is much fresher here. The building is simple and serves its purpose. We don’t have fancy furniture or high-tech gadgets. We have some sturdy tables and chairs and enough space to store our records. Most of our work involves meeting people from the local villages who come to see us. It’s a long way for some people to travel, so we try to be there whenever they arrive. We don't have a fixed lunch break or a strict corporate schedule. We just work until the jobs are done. Life in Chandsar moves at its own pace and we follow that. Sometimes we have to deal with the weather or the local transport issues, but we manage. It’s a very grounded way of working. No one here wears a suit or tie. We just wear our regular clothes and talk to people like neighbors. We’ve been part of this landscape for a long time and we know the families around here. It’s just a small, local operation trying to keep things going. We don't have much, but we have enough to stay busy every day.
