Mittal General Store

Mittal General Store is located right by the Overbridge in Niwaranpur, which is in the Hinoo area of Ranchi. Our pin code is 834002. Being near the overbridge means it is never quiet here because of the cars and the trains that pass by quite frequently. The shop has been here for a long time and we serve all the families who live around Hinoo. It is a general store, so we try to keep a bit of everything, from notebooks for the school kids to soaps and detergents for the houses. The shop is quite narrow and we have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. I usually have to use a long stick or a small ladder to reach the items on the top. We have a small television set in the corner that we watch when there are no customers. Most of the people who come here are our neighbors and we know them by their names. We don't do any home deliveries or anything fancy like that, people just walk in and pick what they need. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs in the evening when the breeze starts blowing. The Ranchi weather is mostly nice but the humidity can be a bit much in the shop. We keep the floor swept and the items organized as much as we can. It’s a small family-run business and we are happy with how things are.
