Mecon Limited

We are based in Ranchi, over at the SMS Section of Mecon Limited. Ranchi is a place where you see a lot of industry. The SMS section is specifically focused on the steel melting shop side of things. It is very technical and very heavy-duty. Our office is right there in the middle of it in Jharkhand. You can see the smoke and the big structures from our windows. It is a bit of a dusty place because of all the metalwork happening nearby. We are Mecon Limited, but here it is all about the SMS part of the business. We don't do much marketing or anything like that because the work speaks for itself. The engineers here are always busy with some furnace or some casting issue. It’s not the kind of place you come for a quiet afternoon. There is a lot of clanging and moving of heavy equipment. We wear our helmets and our boots every day. The office itself is functional. We have some old filing cabinets and some large desks for the blueprints. It is a Government of India kind of atmosphere, so everything is done by the book. We have been here for decades. Ranchi is the heart of this kind of work in India. It is a tough environment, but we are used to it. We just focus on the steel and getting the designs right. It is a job that needs doing.
