Mecon Limited, Ranchi

Our office for Mecon Limited is in Ranchi, located specifically at Manitola in the Doranda area. Ranchi is the capital, so it is quite busy around here. Doranda is a well-known part of town with a lot of history. We are right there at Manitola, near the post office. It is a large building and we have been here for a long time. People in Jharkhand know the Mecon name very well. We do a lot of engineering and consultancy work. The office is full of people who have worked here for twenty or thirty years. It is a stable place. We have a lot of rooms filled with records and computers. Outside, the streets are always crowded with traffic and tea sellers. Inside, we just try to keep things moving on the projects. It is a government-linked place, so there is a certain way of doing things that never really changes. We don't have any flashy slogans. We just show up and work on the technical stuff that the country needs. The weather in Ranchi can get quite cold in the winter, so we all wear our sweaters in the office. In the summer, the fans are always on. It is just a regular workplace for us. We are part of the community here in Doranda. If you ask anyone for the Mecon office, they can point you right to us.
