Maima Ethnics Private Limited

Maima Ethnics is based in a village called Bukrups, which is near Kanke Pithoria. Shaiesh Chandra is the one running things at house number 54. It’s a bit out of the way if you’re coming from the center of Ranchi, but we like it here. The air is much fresher than in the city. We work out of a part of the house that’s been converted into an office and storage area. There are piles of ethnic wear everywhere you look. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and mirrors. It’s more of a practical workspace where we focus on getting the clothes ready. You can often hear the village sounds like goats or people talking while we are working on our designs. We aren't a big company with many departments. It’s just a handful of us making sure the stitching and the patterns are right. Sometimes the roads to Bukrups get a bit muddy during the monsoon, making it hard to move stock, but we manage. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so we know most of our neighbors. The business grew out of just liking traditional clothes. We don't have any corporate goals or big speeches. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. If you ever visit, you’ll likely find us sorting through fabric or talking to the tailors. It’s a slow and steady life here in this corner of Jharkhand.
