If you ever find yourself near the Lal Building area in Ranchi, you’ll likely spot Mahavir Store. We’ve been set up here at this specific address for years. It started small, and to be honest, it still feels pretty small inside most days. I spend a lot of my time checking lists and making sure the crates don't block the walking space for customers. Living in Ranchi, you get used to the pace of things. Our shop isn't like those big supermarkets where everything is under bright neon lights. We have basic wooden shelves and some glass jars for the loose items. My brother usually helps me with the heavy lifting when the grain sacks arrive. Sometimes the truck is late, and we have to tell people to come back later in the afternoon. It's a bit of a headache, but that’s the reality of running a local business. We keep things like tea, sugar, oil, and soap. Nothing too fancy, just the essentials. On rainy days, the floor gets a bit muddy from people coming in, so we keep a mop handy. It’s a plain, honest shop where we treat everyone fairly. We don’t really do advertisements or anything like that. People just know where we are. It gets pretty loud on the street outside, but inside we just focus on getting the orders right and making sure nobody leaves without what they came for. We usually close up once the street lights come on in the evening.
