Madan General Store

Madan General Store is located in the middle of Parsudih Bazar in Ranchi, 834002. If you know the bazar, you know it is always a bit of a mess with people and carts everywhere. We are at address number 1. We spend our days surrounded by boxes and the smell of various goods. It is a noisy place to work, but you get used to the sounds of the market after a while. We don't have any polished speeches or marketing plans. We just open up early and start the day. Sometimes the ceiling leaks a little when the rain is heavy, so we have to move things around quickly. It’s just part of being in an old building. We spend a lot of time counting things and writing notes on scraps of paper. We aren't the biggest store around, but we stay busy enough. The people who come here are usually our neighbors from around Ranchi. We talk about the local news while we weigh out items. It is a simple existence. We don't try to compete with the big malls. We just provide what we can from our spot in Parsudih Bazar. Most of our furniture is old wood that has been worn down by years of use. It feels like home to us. That is just how Madan General Store is. No frills, just us standing behind the counter waiting for the next customer to walk in from the street.
