Our place, Interior Designing And Engineers Associate, is over in Ranchi at a house called Sail Niwas. It’s in the Bel Bagan area of Namkum, which has a very specific feel to it. Most people know the Samlong area, so finding us isn't too hard once you get your bearings. We aren't in one of those huge glass office towers; it’s more of a local setup where we feel part of the street. Being engineers and designers, our desks are usually covered in scales, rulers, and a lot of crumpled paper. We spend our days here in Ranchi trying to solve building problems and figuring out how to make interiors work better. It’s not always glamorous work, often it’s just checking the same numbers twice to be sure. Sail Niwas is a comfortable enough spot to spend the day. The Namkum area is a bit away from the main city rush, which helps when you need to concentrate on a complicated drawing. We’ve stayed here because it works for us and the people around Samlong are good neighbors. There’s no fancy lobby or anything like that, just a door and a workspace where we get things done. We take our work seriously but we do not feel the need to dress it up in fancy language. It is just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out.
