Indigo Charitable Foundation

Up on the 7th floor of the Nile Complex in Kantatoli, you’ll find our little office. We are the Indigo Charitable Foundation. Being in Ranchi, specifically on Old H.B. Road, means we are right in the middle of everything. It gets noisy outside with all the traffic, but we stay busy with our projects. We aren't some distant group with a board of directors in another country. We are right here in Jharkhand. Most of our days are spent dealing with local needs. We don't have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. We try to be helpful when people come by, though the elevator in the building can be a bit slow sometimes. We started this because we had some extra time and wanted to do something decent for the community. It’s not a fancy operation. There are piles of paper on the desks and we drink a lot of chai while we work. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just know what needs doing and we try to do it. It’s practical, everyday stuff. If you’re ever in the Kantatoli area, you’ll see the Nile Complex. That’s where we spend our time, just trying to be useful. We’ve been here for a while and plan to stay.
