Gupta Jarda General Store

Gupta Jarda General Store is situated on Ratu Road in the Ratu area of Ranchi. We have been here for a long time, serving the local community. Our shop is a bit specialized because we carry jarda and related items along with the regular general goods. It’s a small space, but we make it work by using every shelf. The walls are lined with containers and packets of all sorts. When you walk in, you’ll notice it’s a bit dark compared to the bright sun outside, but we like it that way. It keeps the place a bit cooler during the hot months. People come in for their regular habits or to pick up something they forgot at the bigger market down the road. We know many of our customers by their first names and what they usually buy. Ratu is a nice place to have a business because people are friendly and don’t mind a bit of a chat while they wait. We handle all the sales ourselves, so there’s no middleman or corporate feel here. Just us and the counter. Sometimes we run out of things, and we have to tell people to wait a day or two until the truck comes from the city. That’s just part of life in this part of Ranchi. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns. The address is easy to find if you are on the main road. It’s just a practical business for practical people.
