Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd

Our office for Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd is on the 4th floor of Mahavir Tower, which is right on the Main Road in Ranchi. This is probably one of the busiest parts of the city. The noise from the traffic downstairs never really stops, so we have grown used to the sound of horns and engines. The tower itself is an older building and the lift can be a bit slow, but it gets us to the 403 office eventually. We handle the Jharkhand operations from here. It is a busy place with people coming and going all day. We deal with a lot of paperwork for the cement trade and talk to a lot of people from different districts. It is not a very quiet environment, but it has a lot of energy. We have a small pantry where we make tea and that’s where most of the planning happens. The office has big windows but we usually keep the curtains drawn to keep the heat out. We focus on getting the daily targets met and ensuring that the cement bags are reaching the construction sites across the city. It is a straightforward job. We don't have many fancy gadgets, just the basic stuff needed to run a trade office. We know our regulars and we try to keep the workflow as smooth as possible despite the city chaos that is always happening outside our door.
