Gaurang Sewa Foundation

We are tucked away in Jago Niwas Gali in the Matwari area of Hazaribag. Koushal Kishore Singh is the one who keeps everything running. It is a very local setup, right in the heart of the neighborhood. The street is narrow and you might miss it if you aren't looking closely. We do sewa work, which just means we try to be helpful to whoever needs it. It isn't a formal business with a dress code. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. Hazaribag is a nice place to be, and Matwari has a good feel to it. We have a few rooms where we organize our activities. It could be helping with health issues or just giving people a place to gather. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just look at what the person in front of us needs. Sometimes we have long days, but we don't mind. The people who come here are our friends and neighbors. We don't charge for what we do, so we rely on people helping out when they can. It’s a very simple way of living and working. We aren't trying to be famous. We just want to do some good in Jago Niwas Gali while we can. The neighbors often bring over snacks during the afternoon.
