We have been up here on the third floor for a while now. It is a pretty busy spot, especially in the afternoons when students start showing up for their classes. The rooms are not huge, but they do the job for what we need. Most of the time, you will hear someone practicing their pronunciation or just chatting in the hallway between lessons. We started Friends English because we saw a lot of people in the area struggling with their speaking skills and wanting a place to practice. It is nothing fancy, just a few classrooms with some desks and whiteboards. Sometimes the lift is a bit slow or stops working, so we end up taking the stairs to C4. It is funny how you get used to the noise from the street below while you are trying to explain grammar. We have a small cupboard for books and a tea kettle that gets a lot of use during our breaks. People come here from all over the neighborhood. Some are getting ready for school exams, while others just want to talk better at their jobs. We keep things pretty relaxed. There is not a big reception area or anything like that, just a desk where one of us sits to answer the phone. We try to keep the lights on late if someone needs extra help after work. It is mostly just us making sure everyone feels okay about making mistakes while they learn.
