D. Pe. Trader

D. Pe. Trader is situated right on Dak Bunglow Road. It’s a road that always has something going on, with rickshaws and motorbikes zooming past at all hours. We’ve been operating out of this same building for years. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the loading and unloading to worry about that. It’s a straightforward setup. We have a counter at the front and a lot of storage space in the back. Trading isn’t always easy, especially when prices are jumping around, but we stay at it. We start early, usually before the tea stalls have even opened up properly. The air is still a bit cool then. By midday, the heat on Dak Bunglow Road can get quite intense. We have a small radio that plays the local news while we work. We don't have any big corporate policies or handbooks. If a customer comes in with a problem, we just talk it out until it’s sorted. Most of our work comes from people who have been dealing with us since my father’s time. They know we are here every day except for the occasional local holiday. We don’t do much fancy paperwork, just the basics to keep the books straight. It is a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us so far and we don’t see any reason to change it now. We like it this way.
