Betiyan Nidhi Limited

We are over in Mesra, located at the place of Anup Kumar Keshri and Raj Kumar Keshri. It’s a simple setup for Betiyan Nidhi Limited. We don't have a fancy office building with a glass front. It’s just a regular house where we’ve set aside some space to do our work. Mesra is a good place to be, it’s got a bit of a mix of people and it’s not as chaotic as the center of Ranchi. Most of the people who come to see us are people we’ve seen around for years. We know their families and they know ours. It makes the whole process of handling money feel a bit more comfortable for everyone involved. We sit at the table and go through the ledgers one page at a time. If there’s a mistake, we just fix it and move on. There isn't any big corporate policy manual here; we just try to be fair and keep things moving. The room gets a lot of sun in the morning, which is nice in the winter but can be a bit much in May. We just pull the curtains and keep going. People stop by at all sorts of hours, and as long as one of us is around, we usually get the books out. It’s a very local way of doing things, but it works for us and the people in Mesra who trust us.
