Baba Traders

The H.S Market is always a noisy place to be, especially since we’re right on Mahatma Gandhi Main Road in Chitarpur. If you come by Baba Traders, you’ll probably hear the horns honking before you even see the shop. We’ve got a decent-sized spot here, but it’s always filled with boxes and crates because that’s the nature of the business. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles sometimes. The main road is always busy with trucks and rickshaws, so there’s never really a quiet moment until late at night. We spend most of our time counting stock or talking to the drivers who bring the goods in. The counter is usually covered in receipts and half-written lists. We don't use any high-tech systems for the most part; a pen and a ledger work just fine for us. People in Chitarpur know where to find us if they need something. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if it’s tiring standing on your feet all day. The air can get a bit heavy with the exhaust from the street, so we keep a small table fan running right next to the stool. We aren't trying to be the biggest outfit in the market, just trying to keep things moving and stay on top of the orders that come in every week. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know and we have gotten used to the pace.
