B C Dutta & Co is over at No 2 East Jail Road in Ranchi. Our office is right in front of Dr Krishna Kumar’s place. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you are familiar with the 834001 area. East Jail Road is a well-known part of Ranchi. We have been operating from this location for quite some time now. The office is an old-fashioned kind of place. We have big wooden desks and a lot of metal cabinets for all our records. It’s not a modern, shiny office, but it’s where we feel comfortable working. You can see the traffic going by on Jail Road from the front windows. Across the street, there’s always a bit of a crowd near the doctor’s clinic. We usually start our day with a cup of tea and a quick look at the newspaper before getting into the files. There are a few of us here, and we’ve worked together for years. We don’t really use a lot of fancy technology beyond what we absolutely need. Most of our work is still very much about reading through papers and writing things down. We try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. It’s a straightforward way of doing business. We like the neighborhood and the fact that we are close to the main parts of Ranchi. It’s a solid place to spend the workday, and we appreciate the people who stop by.
