Jain Villa is where we are based, tucked into the Pepee Compound area of Ranchi. It feels quite different here compared to the loud commercial complexes on the main roads. We are very close to Guru Nanak School, so we often hear the school bells and the sound of kids during their lunch break. The office is part of a residential building, which gives it a much more relaxed vibe than a cold corporate office. We have several rooms that we have turned into workspaces over the years. There are files and papers everywhere, usually sitting in piles on the floor or on the side tables. We spend our days mostly reading through documents and replying to letters. It is generally a quiet place, which is good when we need to focus on something complicated. We have a small space for having tea or a snack when the work gets a bit much. Most of the people who come to see us have been doing so for a long time. We don't do any marketing or advertising. We just focus on finishing the work we have. Sometimes we look out at the garden and talk about the plants or the weather. It’s a very human way to spend the work day and we appreciate the calm environment. It feels more like a home than a business sometimes.
