Amit General Store

Amit General Store is located in the Chutia area of Ranchi. It is a simple place where we sell a bit of everything that a household might need. From small things like needles and thread to bigger items like buckets or large packs of detergent. We also keep some basic food items like biscuits and snacks for the kids. Chutia is a place with many narrow lanes and lots of houses, so there is always someone coming in for something they forgot to buy at the big market. The shop is just a single room with shelves lining all the walls. It is often a bit messy because we have so many different types of goods to fit in a small space. We don't have a website or anything like that, just a door that stays open most of the day. Working here means you talk to a lot of people every day. Some people stay for ten minutes just to tell us about their day while they buy a packet of salt. We have seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the shop has stayed pretty much the same. It is a reliable spot for the locals. We just focus on keeping the things that people actually use. It is not about being the biggest store, just about being here when someone needs a quick item for their home. Ranchi is growing fast but Chutia still feels like a small village in some ways. We are happy to be a part of that and help out.
