Down in Samsera village, which is in the Pakur district of Jharkhand, is where we do our work. It’s a small, quiet place away from the big cities. Alex Sam, the son of Sam George, is the one who runs things around here. We’ve lived in this village for a long time, so we know most of the families by name. We decided to set this up to help out with things like local health awareness and helping kids with their studies. In a place like Samsera, you don't really need a lot of formal stuff. People just walk up to the house and ask for help. We try to be useful however we can. Some weeks we are busy helping people get to the clinic, and other weeks we might be organizing a small gathering to talk about farming or school issues. It’s not a fancy office; it’s more of a community hub run from a home. We don't have a big budget, so we rely a lot on the people around us to pitch in. Life in Pakur is mostly about hard work and looking after each other, and that’s what we try to reflect in what we do. It’s honest and simple. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our presence here in the village. If someone needs us, they know where to find us. We’re just trying to make things a little better for the folks we’ve known our whole lives.
