You can find us located right near the Ranavav Railway Station. It is a very specific kind of place to work because of the constant sound of the trains passing by. You get used to the whistling and the rumble of the tracks after a few days. The air around here usually has a bit of dust in it, which is just part of the deal when you are working with something like cement. Our setup is pretty basic. We have a lot of open space for the trucks to come and go, and a small office where we keep the logs. It gets incredibly hot in Ranavav, so we spent a lot of time trying to stay in the shade during the middle of the day. There is no air conditioning here, just a couple of heavy-duty fans that mostly just move the warm air around. Saurashtra Cement has a long history in this area, and being near the station makes the transport side of things a bit more manageable for the deliveries. We aren't doing anything fancy. It is just about moving the product and making sure the orders are right. The guys working out in the yard are tough and they’ve been doing this for years. We eat our lunch together under the tin roof of the loading area. It’s a loud, dusty, and busy environment, but it feels right for what we are doing. We don’t need a fancy showroom or big office.
