Thakur Traders

Thakur Traders is tucked away in the Village Post Office Nogli. We are up in the Tehsil Rampur Bushahr area within the District of Shimla. Being in the hills means the air is usually cooler, but the work is still hard. We deal with various goods and trading items from this small spot. The post office is right nearby so we see the mail carrier every morning. It’s a quiet place where everyone knows each other’s names. We have a small storeroom where we keep everything organized as best as we can. Sometimes the mountain roads make it tricky for deliveries to arrive on time, but we just wait and manage. The view from our front door is mostly trees and the hillside. We don't have a lot of walk-in customers because it is a bit of a trek to get up here, but we stay busy with the local trade. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My uncle started it and now we just keep the books and the inventory moving. When the snow comes in the winter, things slow down a lot and we spend more time by the heater. In the summer, it’s beautiful and we keep the doors wide open. We don't need much more than our small space and the steady work we have here in the village of Nogli.
