We are based right here in Mehsaul Urf Lachmimehsaul, specifically at Obaidullah’s place which is number 02 near the Purvi Rampur Mashjid. It is a busy little area and we spend most of our days just talking to the local young people about learning new things. Skill development sounds like a big fancy term used in cities, but for us, it is just about helping neighbors find a way to earn a living. Swabhiman is about self-respect and that is what we try to keep in mind when folks walk through the door. The office is not anything special, just a regular room where we sit down and figure out who needs help with training or finding a path. Sometimes the power goes out and we just move the chairs outside to catch the breeze. We have been in this part of Rampur Mashjid for a while now, so most people know where to find us if they need something. We do not have big flashy signs or any of that. It is mostly just us with some registers and a lot of tea. It gets pretty hot and dusty during the summer months, but we keep the doors open so anyone can stop by. We are not trying to do anything huge, just helping a few people in the neighborhood get a bit of a start. It feels better being here where we know everyone’s name instead of being in some tall building far away.
