It’s a traditional kind of area, and we are right in the middle of it. The building isn’t anything special to look at from the outside, just a sturdy place where we can keep our files and meet local people. Rampur can get quite busy during the market days, so getting through the narrow streets sometimes takes a bit of time. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background while we work on our tasks. It’s mostly just sorting through local requests and keeping the logs updated by hand. We don’t have any big flashy banners or neon signs outside. The neighbors all know we are here. Sometimes it gets a bit loud outside with the traffic and the horns, but we are used to it by now. The office has a few chairs and a big wooden table where we sit and figure things out together. It’s a simple way of living and working. We don’t really go for the corporate style because it doesn’t fit the vibe of Shahabad at all. We just do the work that needs doing and go home to our families at the end of the day. It’s a small foundation, but we stay busy with the basics. Everything is handled by a couple of us here on site.
