If you go down to Paikpara near the Durga Mandir, you will find our spot. We are right there in Narayanpur, and it is pretty easy to spot us because of the heavy machines parked nearby. The sound of the temple bells is something we hear every day, and it sort of blends in with the noise of the engines. We spend most of our time out in the dirt. This isn't the kind of job where you can keep your clothes clean. My clothes are usually covered in grease or mud by noon. The office is just a small room where we keep the keys and the logbooks. We don’t really have a secretary or anything like that. Whoever is around answers the phone. Most of the guys who work here are locals who know how to handle the equipment in this terrain. It’s a lot of physical work and the hours can be long, especially when we are trying to finish a job before the monsoon hits. We don't talk much about business strategies or growth. We just focus on getting the machines to where they need to be. Sometimes a part breaks and we have to wait for days to get a replacement from the city. That’s just part of the life here. We take things as they come and don't make a big fuss about it. We just get on with the job and try to finish before it gets dark.
