Malhotra Electronics

Malhotra Electronics has been a fixture on Rani Khat Road for a good while. We are situated near the Roadway Station, so it’s always busy with people coming and going from the buses. Being in the Nanital district means we get a mix of locals and folks just passing through on their travels. Our shop isn’t very big, but we pack a lot into it. There are wires and components tucked into almost every corner and drawer. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific part right away, but we usually know which shelf it’s on. We spend a lot of time testing things and talking to customers about their various gadgets. It can get a bit loud with the bus station so close, but you get used to the honking and the shouting of the conductors. We’ve been at this Rani Khat Road location long enough that people know to come here when something stops working. It’s a family-run kind of vibe. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the local news while we work on repairs. The winter months in Nanital can be quite cold, so we usually have a small heater going near the front counter. It’s a simple life, really. We open up in the morning, see who comes in, and try to help them out with whatever electronic trouble they have. It’s not fancy, but it’s our living and we enjoy the daily interactions with the neighborhood.
