We are based out of Jai Kishore Mehta’s place in the Saraiya area of Padma, Hazaribagh. It is a quiet spot, away from the main city rush. People around here know us as a small group that helps with savings and little loans when someone needs to fix a roof or buy seeds. We don’t have any fancy glass walls or air conditioning that freezes you out. It’s just a regular room with some desks and registers. Sometimes the tea arrives late and we just sit and talk about the crops or the local news while we wait. We’ve lived in this part of Jharkhand for a long time, so we know the families around here. It’s not like those big offices where you are just a number on a screen. Here, we know your name and your father’s name too. We handle the paperwork ourselves. It might take a little longer because we check everything twice by hand. The roads around Saraiya can get a bit dusty in the summer, but people still make the trip to see us. We are just local people trying to make things a bit easier for the neighbors. There is no big secret to what we do. We just look after the money folks bring in and help out when a member needs a hand. It’s a simple way of living and working that suits this place perfectly. We stay open even when it is raining hard outside.
