Kbms Infrastructure is based at Karan Singh’s place, the son of Lal Man Singh. We are located in the village of Ghantwal in Chenani, Udhampur. It’s a very local operation. We aren't some big firm from the city. Most of us grew up right here in these hills. Working in Ghantwal means you know everyone you’re dealing with. The office is just a part of the family premises. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. We just focus on getting infrastructure projects done in the Udhampur area. The roads around here can be tricky, especially when the weather turns bad. We spend a lot of time outdoors, checking on progress and talking to the workers. It’s hard work and the days are often long. We started this company because we wanted to work for ourselves and help build up our own village and the surrounding towns. There is no polished sales pitch here. We just show up and do the work that’s expected of us. Sometimes we run into problems with the equipment or the terrain, but we just figure it out. That is how life is in the village. We are proud to be from Chenani and to have our business rooted in this soil. It’s just us, working with our hands and our heads to get things built the right way without any extra fuss or unnecessary talk.
