T. R. Sekar Handlooms

Our place is at 10/299 on Kanni Sundarajan Street. It is a busy little area, and the sound of the looms is something you just get used to after a while. T. R. Sekar Handlooms is not some giant factory with robots. It is mostly just people working with their hands and the old machines. The street outside can get a bit crowded with scooters and neighbors chatting, but inside we just focus on the thread and the patterns. Sometimes the yarn tangles up and it takes a whole morning to get it straight, which can be frustrating, but that is just how it goes with handlooms. We have stacks of cloth everywhere. It is a bit disorganized if I am being honest, but we know where everything is. The light coming through the windows in the morning is the best time to see the colors properly. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or shiny brochures. People find us because they know the street or they heard about us from someone else. It is a humble way to earn a living, but it keeps us busy. We take our tea breaks together when the heat gets too much. Every piece of cloth has a bit of our time in it. It is just a local spot where the work never really stops until it is time to lock up for the night and go home to rest.
