Krishna Gifts

Krishna Gifts is tucked away in Kahukara Bazar, right near the Ceriyiar Bus Stand. Being so close to the bus stand means we get a lot of travelers stopping in. The shop is at 53/5, and it’s a small space that we’ve tried to fill with as much as possible. It’s quite easy to miss us if you aren't looking closely because the bazar is always so crowded and noisy. We have all sorts of little things that people pick up as gifts or for their own homes. The shelves are a bit crooked, and we haven't painted the walls in a few years. It gives the place a lived-in feel, I suppose. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most of our customers are locals or people getting off the bus who need something quickly. My brother and I run the place most days. Sometimes the air conditioning doesn't work right, so it gets a bit warm in the summer. We just open the door and let the breeze in, along with all the street noise. It’s not a fancy boutique, just a gift shop in a busy market. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone is working hard. Sometimes we lose track of what's in the back room, but we eventually find it. It's just a normal part of life here in Kahukara Bazar. We’ve been here since my father started the place.
