We've been doing this for a while now in Mudhukulathur. People around Paramakudi usually come to us when they need something fixed or fabricated. It’s just a small setup, nothing too fancy. My father started it and now a few of us keep the machines running every day. Some days are busier than others, especially when the local farmers need parts for their equipment. We spend most of our time in the workshop getting our hands dirty. It gets pretty hot here in the afternoons, but that’s just how it is. We handle different kinds of metal work and repairs. If you walk past our place, you'll probably hear the grinders going. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk and a couple of chairs for when people stop by to talk about a job. Most of our tools are old but they still work fine for what we do. We try to get things done when we say we will, though sometimes materials take a bit longer to arrive. It’s a quiet life here but we like being part of the community. We've known most of our customers for years. It's not about making a huge name for ourselves, just doing the work that needs to be done. We keep things simple and don't complicate the process with too much paperwork. Some people call ahead, others just show up with a broken hinge or a piece of steel that needs bending. We do what we can.
