Jothi Linga Nidhi Limited

Down here in Rameswaram, our office is located at 72/7 Muthuramalingathevar Nagar, right on the road that leads out toward Dhanuskodi. Being so close to the coast, we get that salty air all year round. Our work at Jothi Linga Nidhi Limited is pretty quiet compared to the main temple area where all the tourists are. Most of our members are local residents of Ramanathapuram who have stayed here for generations. We handle their small savings and help them out with small loans when they have a need. The office is just a plain building where we keep our ledgers and meet the people from the neighborhood. It’s not a very big team here, just a few of us making sure the daily collections are recorded and the interest is calculated right. People usually walk in during the cooler parts of the day. We have a lot of regular faces who stop by just to say hello even if they don’t have a payment to make that day. The Dhanuskodi Road stays busy with vehicles, but inside it’s just us doing the paperwork. We don’t have a lot of corporate rules; we just try to be helpful and deal with the people who trust us with their money. It’s a practical way to run a business in a small town like this. We keep things organized but we don’t mind if someone stays for a bit of a chat. The office life is slow but steady.
