Anna Masala

If you are coming down Rameswaram Road, you will probably see us near the Annasilai landmark. That is a famous spot so it makes giving directions to Anna Masala much easier for us. The road is always packed with people traveling and the sound of horns is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We have a small setup that stays pretty busy throughout the daylight hours. It is nothing too special to look at, just a practical space where we handle all our daily business. We do not have any fancy furniture or a big lobby. Usually, there is some stock sitting near the entrance waiting to be moved. The heat can be quite something in this part of town, so we keep the fans running all day long. It is just a few of us here, mostly family and a couple of guys from the local area who help out with the heavy lifting. We have known most of the other shop owners on this stretch for years now. We usually open up around the same time as everyone else and stay until the street lights come on. There is always something to clean or a ledge to wipe down because of all the road grime. It is just the way things go when you are located on a main road like this. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
