Niki Cable Industries

We are located at 843 in Rakanpur Village, which is part of the Kalol area in Gandhinagar. It is a bit of a drive out here, but we like the space we have. Niki Cable Industries has been running from this spot for a good while. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, just a plain structure with a lot of spools and wires sitting around the yard. Sometimes the cows from the village wander near the gate, and we have to shoo them away so the delivery vans can get through. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of the machines winding cable and the fans blowing to keep the heat down. We aren't a giant factory with thousands of workers, just a decent-sized team of local people. My uncle usually keeps an eye on the production while I deal with the suppliers on the phone. It gets pretty hectic when a big order comes in, and we all have to pitch in, even if it’s not our usual job. The power goes out once in a while, and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It’s a good time to catch up on the local gossip or share a tea. We don't have a website that works right or a fancy marketing person. We just make our cables and try to keep our customers happy so they come back next time. That’s how we’ve always done it here in Rakanpur.
