Tirupati Marble

You can find us at Badarda, right along NH-8. Being on the national highway means there’s never a quiet moment. Tirupati Marble is basically a big yard full of stone slabs and blocks. We’re right where the action is, with trucks coming in from the quarries and heading out to different cities. The ground is always a bit white from the marble dust, and we wear sturdy boots because of it. We don't have a big fancy entrance. You just pull off the highway and you’re there. Most of our work involves moving heavy stone and making sure the slabs aren't cracked or damaged. It’s a physical job, and we’re usually out in the sun for most of it. We talk to a lot of drivers and small-time builders who are looking for a good deal on a few slabs. We’ve been at this spot on NH-8 for a long time, so we’ve seen the highway get wider and the traffic get faster. We don't really bother with glossy brochures. People just walk around the yard and point at the stone they like. It’s a very direct way of doing business. Sometimes it’s messy, and sometimes we’re exhausted by the end of the shift, but that’s just how the marble trade works out here in Badarda. We just take it one slab at a time.
