Purbia Nidhi Limited

Our office is situated in Gali No 3, right near the Swastik Cinema in Kankroli. Rajsamand is a place where everyone knows everyone, and being near the cinema makes us pretty easy to find. We have a small shopfront that we’ve turned into an office for the Nidhi. It’s mostly just a counter, some cupboards for the files, and a couple of chairs for people to sit on while they wait. We get a lot of locals coming in, especially after a movie lets out or when the market nearby is in full swing. The work we do isn't very flashy. It’s mostly just collecting small amounts of money from our members and helping them out when they need a bit of a loan for their personal needs. We use a lot of paper and ink, and our hands are often messy from the stamps and the ledgers. The heat in Rajasthan can be quite something, so we spend a lot of time making sure the cooler is filled with water. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once, but we make it work. We’ve been in this lane for a while, and the neighbors are all friendly. We just do our bit to help the people in Kankroli save their money safely. There’s no big mystery to how we operate; we just follow the rules and keep our records straight.
