Down here in Village Makadjapa, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are part of Pan India Food Solution Pvt., and our office is out in the Kherwara Tehsil near Udaipur. To get to us, you have to pass through Post Billkh Gadawat and follow the dusty roads until you see the sign. It is a rural spot, so we deal with a lot of local stuff and the heat can get pretty intense in the middle of the day. We have a small team here, and most of us grew up in the surrounding villages in Rajasthan. The building is simple, with thick walls to keep the sun out, but we still use the fans a lot. We spend our time managing the food supplies and making sure everything is recorded in the logs correctly. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the roads are rough, so we spend a lot of time waiting and checking our watches. There is a big tree outside where we usually eat our lunch in the shade. It is a quiet existence out here, far from the malls and the crowds. We just focus on getting the food where it needs to go and making sure the paperwork is done before the day ends. It is honest work and we are just glad to have a steady place to go every morning. Often we sit out front after the sun goes down just to catch the evening breeze before walking home.
