If you're driving down Jal Chakki Road in Kankroli, you've probably passed Arihant Hardware a dozen times. We sell all the usual things you'd expect to find in a local hardware shop, like tools, nails, and various bits of metal for building things. It’s a bit crowded inside the shop because we try to keep everything in stock, even the weird stuff people only ask for once every few years. The shelves are pretty high and sometimes they get a bit dusty, but we know exactly where every bolt is hidden. We’ve been at this location for quite some time now and the floor is a bit worn out. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving boxes or helping someone find the right size pipe fitting for their bathroom. It’s not exactly a glamorous job, but someone has to supply the local builders and the fix-it guys in the neighborhood. We get a lot of regulars who stop by just to chat for a minute while they pick up a bag of cement or some screws. Kankroli is a tight-knit place, so we try to treat everyone fairly and help them find a solution. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the truck to come in from the city, which can be a bit of a headache for the customers. But usually, we have what's needed to get a small project finished. We don't have a website, just the physical shop here on the main road.
