Deshna Foundation For Legal Policy Andresearch is based at B-6 on Station Road in Kalindi Vihar, Kankroli. Being right there by the station means there’s always something happening nearby. It’s a convenient spot for us. The office itself is pretty plain. We have a lot of bookshelves because of the nature of our work. There’s always a lot of reading and writing to do. It can get pretty quiet inside even when it’s busy outside. We’ve been here for some time now. It’s just a small group of us. We don’t have any fancy titles or big offices. We all sit together in the main room. It makes it easier to talk about things. Sometimes we have to go out for meetings, but we’re usually here during the day. Kankroli is a good town. We like the pace of life here. It’s not as crazy as the big cities. We try to keep our paperwork in order, but sometimes it gets ahead of us. We don’t have any polished speeches or marketing tricks. We just tell people what we’re doing. It’s a very straightforward way of working. Most of our day is spent looking at documents. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s what we do. We’re happy with our little space. We hope to stay here for a while and keep going.
