Deogarh Mahal

Deogarh Mahal is right on Palace Road, and you can't really miss it if you're in the area. It’s an old place with a lot of history in the stones. We aren't a new building with glass walls. We are a heritage spot that requires a lot of upkeep. There is always a door that needs oiling or a wall that needs a bit of touch-up paint. The family that owns it is still involved, and those of us who work here feel like we’re part of the history too. It’s a quiet town compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. We don't have a fancy marketing department. Most of the people who come here heard about us from a friend or just saw the building from the road. We spend a lot of time in the courtyards and on the balconies. It’s a simple life for the most part. We provide rooms and food, but mostly we provide a bit of a break from the modern world. You won’t find us using a lot of corporate buzzwords. We just talk like normal people and try to be helpful. The view from the top is something we never get tired of. It’s just an old palace on Palace Road, and we’re the ones lucky enough to take care of it every day. It’s honest work in a beautiful old building that has seen a lot of years go by.
