Dau Ji Product

We are located in Village Nathdwara, which is in the Rajsamand district. It’s a nice area, fairly close to Udaipur. If you’re driving that way, you might pass right by us. Dau Ji Product is a small outfit. We work out of a building that used to be part of a larger farm. The walls are thick stone, which is good for the Rajasthani heat. We do a lot of the work by hand. It’s slow but it’s the only way we know how to do it properly. The dust from the road covers everything if we don't keep the windows shut. Sometimes you can hear the bells from the temple in the distance. We have a few local men and women who come in to help with the processing. We sit on low stools and talk while we work. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We have a tea break twice a day. The courtyard out back is where we dry some of the materials when the sun is out. It’s a very manual process. We don't have big machines making a lot of noise. It’s mostly just the sound of people talking and the occasional truck passing by on the way to the city. We sell what we make to the people around here and some of the shops in Nathdwara. It’s a steady pace of life. We don't rush things because good things take time.
