Pir Panjal Fed Vegetable Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Bhatidhar village, which is part of the Mendhar tehsil. We work out of Pervaiz Ahmed’s place. It’s a bit of a trek to get up here, but the air is clear and the land is good for growing vegetables. We are a farmer producer company, which basically means a bunch of us local growers decided to work together. In a village like Bhatidhar, everyone knows how hard it is to get your vegetables to the bigger markets. We spend a lot of our time meeting in the village, sitting under the trees or in a small room, talking about seeds and what the weather is doing. It isn’t a corporate setup at all. It’s just us, the people who actually plant the crops, trying to find better ways to sell them. We have to deal with the hills and the rough roads, which can be a real pain when you’re trying to move a lot of produce. Sometimes the rain washes out the paths, and we have to wait it out. We don’t have fancy computers or a big office staff. Most of us are more comfortable in the fields than behind a desk. We just want to make sure the farmers in our area get a fair shake. It’s slow work, building something like this from the ground up, but we’re all from here, so we have the patience for it. We just take it day by day and keep planting.
