Onkar Trader

Onkar Trader is located on Tilak Marg in the Lohar Para area. It’s an old part of town with narrow streets and a lot of history. We are right in the middle of it all. Trading is what we do, and it involves a lot of phone calls and haggling over prices. The office is small and usually smells like old paper and incense. We have a wooden counter where we do most of our transactions. It’s been there since we opened. We don’t have a digital tracking system or anything like that; everything goes into the big ledgers we keep on the shelf. It works for us and we haven't lost a record yet. The street outside is always crowded with scooters and carts. Sometimes it’s hard to even get to the front door. We know all the other shopkeepers around here. We help each other out when someone needs a hand moving a heavy load. It’s a tight-knit community in Lohar Para. We don't have any big goals to expand into a giant corporation. We are happy with what we have and the people we serve. We take a long break in the middle of the day when the sun is at its highest. It is a traditional way of working that hasn't changed much over the decades. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to sit in the shade for a bit while they wait for their customers.
