We are over in Station Para, specifically at Ward No. 13 in Shikshak Nagar. The name of the place is KharidiKart Dot Com, and even though the name sounds like a big internet company, we are actually just a local team working out of a small office near the station. Shikshak Nagar is a decent area, and being close to the station makes it easier for us to get our packages out on the trains and trucks. Our day usually starts with a pile of printouts showing what people ordered overnight. We spend the first few hours finding those items in our storage area and getting them wrapped up. We use a lot of bubble wrap and brown tape. It’s not very glamorous work, and the office often smells like cardboard. We don't have a big marketing department or anything; we just hope that if we send out the right things, people will come back. Sometimes the power goes out in Ward 13, and we have to wait a bit to get the computers back on, but we usually manage. We’ve got a couple of motorbikes for local drops too. It’s just a small group of us trying to make a living by selling things online from our corner of the world. We like the quiet pace of Station Para compared to the main city center. It’s a practical, no-nonsense setup for a small business that just works.
