Barfani Fly Ash Bricks

Our place, Barfani Fly Ash Bricks, is out in Gopalpur. We are very close to the Pani Tanki in Ghumka, which is the big water tank everyone uses as a landmark. The Post Office of Ghumka is also right nearby. It’s a fairly quiet area, mostly just local traffic and the sound of the birds until we get the machinery going. We chose this spot because it’s easy for the local villagers to find. The water tank is visible from quite a distance, so we just tell people to head toward it. The yard stays pretty busy with the fly ash being delivered and the bricks being shaped and dried. We have to keep an eye on the sky because if a sudden rain comes, we have to scramble to cover the bricks that aren't set yet. It’s a lot of physical work, moving the blocks around and making sure the piles are straight. We don't have any fancy sales pitch or a polished office. Most of the time, I’m out in the yard with the workers, making sure everything is moving along. The air out here in Gopalpur is usually better than in the big cities, though the fly ash does make things a bit dusty around the site. We just do our work, talk to the neighbors, and wait for the trucks to come and pick up the finished orders. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. Most evenings, we sit by the tanki and just talk about the day’s work.
